Cheaper Medicines

It took a couple of years of waiting until the legislative finally passed the Cheaper Medicine Bill/ Quality Affordable Medicine.
The bill which was now called as Universally Accessible Cheaper and Quality Medicine Act of 2008 is yet to be signed into law by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
The bill is expected to bring down the prices of medicines and create free competition in the pharmaceutical industry.
The legislators fought over the "Generics only" provision and the creation of drug regulatory board.

Victory!

Hail to the Filipino veterans!
Their heroism finally earned them the benefit that they truly deserve after so many years of waiting. Yes, the US Senate finally passes the bill that gives pension benefits to our WWII veterans.
Though it was long overdue, there are still at least 18,000 veterans in the country that would still enjoy the $300 pension monthly from the US government aside of course of the pension that they acquire under the Philippine government.
Those Pinoy WWII veterans who lived in the US will receive the same amount of pension that American WWII veterans enjoy.
